Door log: 30 days, not an attendance record
Every door action is logged, but the link to a person drops after 30 days. The log serves security, not attendance control.
Selfdesk logs every door action in your space: opening and locking, successes and failures. After 30 days the link to the person is removed automatically. Door, time and outcome remain as anonymous statistics. The log is a security log and explicitly not a record of attendance.
| What | How it is logged |
|---|---|
| Door opened | with person, door, time and outcome |
| Door locked | the same, under the same rules |
| Failed attempt | yes, failures are the part with security value |
| Lock state read | no, that touches the lock, not the person |
| Repeat within seconds | no, a held button would otherwise flood the log |
What you do not get from it:
- No filter by person. There is no view called "every opening by X".
- No CSV export of door events. The booking list has one, the door log does not.
- No view further back than 30 days. In Activity, the Doors filter reaches exactly as far as the link to a person exists.
Further cases:
- Remove a member from the space and their door rows are hard deleted, not just anonymised.
- A member keeps their own full history.
- A nightly run removes the links to persons. See What is stored, and for how long.
- With a company account, a permanently named door log would be an employer watching their staff. That is another reason it does not exist. See Company account.
