The four legal documents of your space
Three documents are generated by Selfdesk from templates and your data. Only the terms of use are written by you.
Web
Four documents sit under Legal texts. They differ in who writes them and in what makes them change.
| Document | Where it comes from | What changes it |
|---|---|---|
| Terms of sale | platform template plus your space's data | you generate a new version, or one appears when your data changes |
| Right of withdrawal | platform template, the same for every space | rarely, template maintenance |
| Price list | generated from your plans and prices | every change to prices or terms; a new name does not |
| Terms of use | your own PDF | only when you upload a new version |
That includes:
- Only the terms of use are an upload and therefore optional. See Upload your terms of use.
- The price list proves what a plan costs. That a particular person signed up for that plan at that price is proven by their contract confirmation. See Price list.
- The price list is created anew by itself with every change: to prices, plans, rooms, add-ons, credits, extras and the tax mode. It states the price of the current month and every announced one with its month ("from December 2026: €150.00"). A renamed plan or room, a new description, or a plan that becomes public or stops being public also creates a new version. A new layout of the price list does not. The note of a version names, for each price change, the month it applies from and who it applies to.
- For terms of sale and right of withdrawal, the top of the page shows the version in force, with how many accepted it. Below it is the next version: if it differs, Selfdesk lists what changes. Open preview shows the PDF without creating a version. Only Create new version creates it.
- After a new version of the right of withdrawal the app and the web ask every member to accept it before they continue. For the house rules this applies when Require acceptance is on.
- A new version of the price list locks nobody out. Whoever has a contract agreed when signing up. You ask for agreement to a new price per price change, and for the version itself only if you want to. See Collect agreement to new prices.
- Earlier versions are kept because they prove which version a member accepted.
- A version that still states net prices is flagged, and Selfdesk offers to generate a new one. Existing versions are left alone, because an issued document is a record.
- You can view terms of sale, right of withdrawal and price list in the app and on the web, and create new versions of the first two there.
