Create a room
A room needs a name and has its own price per hour. Capacity, equipment and a picture are optional.
Members book rooms on a 15-minute grid. Every room has its own price per hour, so the phone booth can cost less than the seminar room. Day guests pay this price, and so do members whose plan gives no discount. What a member actually pays is set by their plan: how many hours a month are included and what percentage discount on the room price applies after that.
- Open Rooms and tap Add room.
- Enter the room name.
- Enter the price under Price per hour, gross. Empty or 0 means the room has no price.
- Add capacity, equipment and a description if you like.
- Tap Create room.
What applies here
- A room without a price costs members nothing and is not offered to guests without an account.
- The price is a gross price. Selfdesk takes the tax rate from your space. See Gross price.
- Discount and included hours are set on the plan, not on the room. An hour uses up the included hours the same way, whichever room it is in. See Create a plan.
- You change the price of an existing room on the room. Two steps ask from which billing month and to whom it applies. See Change a price.
- If you change the price or archive a room, a new version of your price list is created by itself.
- A room you no longer offer is archived. It can then no longer be booked, not by guests either, and leaves the price list. Past bookings and invoices keep it. On the web it is under Show archived, in the app under Retired, and Restore brings it back.
- A room with future bookings cannot be archived. Cancel those bookings first.
- Whether guests may book without an account is set on the room.
- Drinks, food or equipment with the room are set up as extras, not on the room. See Create extras for room bookings.
- Rule: Included room hours
